Home School Admission to the University of Montana
Application for Fall 2024 closes Friday, Aug. 16, 2024.
Homeschool students seeking admission to UM should submit:
- a completed undergraduate application
- the $30 application fee
- a transcript of homeschool courses* that is signed by a parent/guardian.
Prior to enrollment homeschool students will need to supply one of the following:
- Passing HiSET/GED score
- ACT composite score of 22 or higher
- SAT combined score of 1120 or higher
- Affidavit of Completion of Secondary School Education
If you are applying under the age of 17, your file will automatically be selected to go to a review committee. This committee evaluates if a student is academically and emotionally prepared for college.
* If a homeschool transcript is not available and you have completed secondary school education in a homeschool setting, the Affidavit of Completion of Secondary School Education can be submitted in place of the homeschool transcript. Please note: Without a transcript, this affidavit will only meet the proof of high school graduation requirement for admission to Missoula College. For direct admission to University of Montana, home school students will also need to provide an ACT/SAT score that meets minimum requirements or a passing GED/HiSET score.
