The Davidson Honors College Presidential Leadership Scholarship

The Presidential Leadership Scholarship is The University of Montana’s premier academic scholarship, recognizing outstanding talent, academic performance and contribution to the community. To apply for the Davidson Honors College Presidential Leadership scholarship complete the Davidson Honors College (DHC) application postmarked by December 31st.

The Western Undergraduate Exchange Scholarship

Priority Deadline:  December 31st

The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Scholarship is a competitive merit based scholarship. Academic success is the primary factor in awarding of the WUE Scholarship. To be eligible for the WUE Scholarship students must apply for and be admitted to The University of Montana. 

The awarding of WUE will be determined based on the information provided in the application for undergraduate admission only. Student’s academic major will not have any effect in the awarding process. Priority will be given to applications postmarked by December 31st. The WUE Scholarship amount represents 150 percent of Montana resident tuition and fees rather than the full nonresident tuition and fees.

Non Resident Entering Student Scholarship Program

Priority Deadline:  December 31st

Complete The University of Montana Application for Undergraduate Admission to apply. Non resident awards and scholarships—including WUE—will be determined based on the application for undergraduate admission only. Priority will be given to applications postmarked by December 31st.  A scholarship committee matches qualified applications with the scholarship that best fits them.

National Merit Scholarship

The University of Montana participates in the National Merit Scholarship Program and offers awards of $2,000 a year to finalists who have indicated UM as their first choice for attending college. Semi-finalists who enroll at UM receive an award of $1,000 a year. Interested students are encouraged to list UM as their first college choice.

Army ROTC Scholarship

The University of Montana participates in the Army ROTC Scholarship programs through its Army ROTC unit. To receive an application for a four-year scholarship, contact your high school guidance office. Applications for two and three-year scholarship are available directly for The University of Montana ROTC department. Academic Department Scholarships

Many of UM's academic departments award scholarships to exceptionally talented students. You are encouraged to contact the department of interest by January to find out more about the scholarships and application process.

Other Scholarship Sources

You will want to check with your high school guidance counselor to see if they offer a scholarship search. Your local library or bookstore may also have scholarship books to help you find assistance.
