Schedule a Visit to Campus

Experience campus for yourself. One of the best ways to understand if UM is the right fit for you is to visit the campus and engage with the students, faculty, and staff who make up the University community. The Office of Enrollment Services – Admissions assists prospective students and their families in arranging campus visits. You can register for a campus visit online, or give our office a call to schedule a visit.

Campus Visit Options

Enrollment Services – Admissions offers two options for prospective students to experience campus.

UM Days

Our open houses, called UM Days, are full-day events that include campus tours, student services presentations, a student panel, residence hall tours, lunch on campus and academic department meetings. UM Days are our most popular campus visit program for prospective students to experience campus.

UM Days provides prospective students and their families a unique opportunity to experience life at The University of Montana. A number of special events are scheduled during UM Days for participants to explore campus with other students. By attending UM Days, you will have the chance to take a guided tour of campus, view rooms in each of our residence halls, visit with faculty from your academic areas of interest, and hear from various student services on campus, including financial aid, residence life, and career services.

To register for UM Days, you can sign up online or call us at (406) 243-6266 or (800) 462-8636.

Daily Campus Visits

Sign up for a daily campus visit online.

The University of Montana hosts prospective students on campus Monday-Friday throughout the entire year, except holidays. Typically, a student can meet with an admissions counselor, take a guided tour of campus, and meet with a faculty member. Tours and meetings with admissions counselors are offered at various times throughout the year.

We recommend visiting on a weekday during the academic year to experience campus life at its best. To provide you with the best experience possible, we ask that you give us at least two weeks notice to schedule your visit. If you schedule within a week of visiting we may not be able to arrange additional meetings with departments.

Please note, UM observes federal and state holidays. Campus visits and tours are not available on those days. During break periods, visits and tours may have limited availability. Please call in advance to confirm a visit during these times.

Check out the travel and accommodations page for information on getting to Missoula, accommodations, and other services in the area.

Summer
During the summer (mid-May through the end of August), campus tours will be offered once daily at 1 pm. Meetings with admissions counselors are offered at 11 am, 2 pm and 3:30 pm.

Winter
During the winter (mid-December through the end of January), campus tours will be offered once daily at 11:10 am. Meetings with admissions counselors are offered at 10 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.

Visit the COT

Setting up a campus tour at the University of Montana College of Technology is a great idea for anyone considering a two-year associates or a one-year certificate program. Have lunch prepared by our culinary department, fire up a diesel engine, or sit in on a radiologic technology class.

Although there is no easy button when it comes to the college search, the UM College of Technology makes it simple to come visit and ask all the questions you want. There are two great ways to schedule a visit.

  1. Online: Sign up for a daily campus visit online.
  2. Phone: Call (406) 243-7882 and schedule a visit over the phone!
