Distance Education Only

If you are registering exclusively for online courses at The University of Montana, you can apply as a Distance Education Only Student.

Distance Education Only Students:

take courses online only;
do not have the option to take classes on-campus (without changing their status to On-Campus);
have some mandatory fees waived;
are not required to provide proof of immunization or file a Medical History Form;
are not eligible for health insurance through The University;
are not eligible for services provided by Curry Health Center;
cannot use the Campus Recreation facilities; and
do not receive event ticket discounts.

Distance Education Only Students are still required to meet general admission requirements for The University of Montana.

How To Apply

New students must fill out Application for Undergraduate Admissions and check the Distance Education Only checkbox on the application.

Existing students should file a Distance Learning Change of Status Form from the Registrar.
