Outdoor Program
Located in the Campus Recreation Center, the Outdoor Program provides UM students with the necessary equipment, skills, and knowledge to recreate in the outdoors. Equipment rentals, classes, trips, events, and a repair shop are a few of the services they offer.
Snowsports
If you dream of deep powder and steep slopes within 20 minutes of your residence hall, then Missoula is the place for you. Missoula boasts several world-class ski resorts within driving distance. Here are some of the closest:
- Montana Snowbowl (20 minutes)
- Discovery Ski Area (1.5 hours)
- Lost Trail Powder Mountain (1.75 hours)
- Lookout Pass (1.75 hours)
- Blacktail Mountain (1.75 hours)
- Whitefish Mountain (2.75 hours)
Three national recreation areas (Blue Mountain, Pattee Canyon, and Rattlesnake) provide Nordic skiing and snowshoe enthusiasts with miles of both groomed and backcountry trails within minutes of the UM campus.

You know what they say about all work and no play? At the The University Center (UC) Game Room, we are completely devoted to the pursuit of fun! We may not be able to help you pass that quantum physics exam, but we sure can show you a good time. Located inside:

Campus Recreation Center
UM’s state-of-the-art Campus Recreation Center (Rec Center) is a full fitness facility including:

- Juice and snack bar
- Grizzly Pool
The University of Montana Golf Course
The University of Montana Golf Course is Missoula’s oldest and is located next to the Dornblaser Stadium.
