Freshman Admission

You are considered a freshman if you are any of the following:

• a first-time college student;
• have attempted fewer than 12 college-level credits;
• a traditional-age first time high school graduates with college credit;
• a traditional-age freshmen with GED;
• a non-traditional student with a High School diploma or GED and no College Credits.

Transfer Admission

If you have attended another college and attempted 12 or morecollege-level credits you are considered a transfer student in theadmission process; please continue to Transfer Admissions.

Returning University of Montana Students - Readmission

If you have previously enrolled at The University of Montana-Missoula and interrupted your enrollment for a time period of 24 months or more, you must submit an application for readmission. Applications for readmission may be obtained from the Registrar’s Office.

Post-Baccalaureate Admission

If you have earned your Bachelors degree at another institution and want to pursue another undergraduate degree then you are considered a Post-baccalaureate student and should complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission. Post-baccalaureate Admission.

International Admission

You are considered an international student if:

• you are not a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, member of a Jay Treaty Tribe or refugee; or
• you are living in the U.S. under an F, B, H, J, L or M visa.

College of Technology

The University of Montana—Missoula College of Technology provides the best occupational education in 34 different areas ranging from health care, business, and culinary arts to computers, electronics, and industry. Most programs begin in the fall with some offering additional spring entries. Upon graduation, students receive a certificate of completion for two- and three-semester programs and an Associate of Applied Science degree for four-semester programs.

Davidson Honors College

If you are applying for admission to The Davidson Honors College you must first apply for general admission to the University.  Generally, a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 is expected, as well as an ACT composite score of 27 or SAT combined score of 1800 or higher. These criteria are not absolute, and highly motivated students are encouraged to apply.

Applications for the Davidson Honors College received by December 31^st will also be automatically considered for the Presidential Leadership Scholarship. The Presidential Leadership Scholarships are The University of Montana’s premier academic scholarships—recognizing outstanding talent, academic performance and contribution to the community.
