Academics at The University of Montana

Academic Balance

At The University of Montana you'll find your academic balance. Yes, you will learn from lectures and textbooks, but also through real experiences like internships and service learning. Travel to exotic locations to study abroad or do research. Maybe your balance will be learning about environmental sustainability while working at our P.E.A.S. farm.

Our students volunteer to build houses, work part-time as Americorps volunteers and join the legacy of UM Peace Corps members.

Theoretical and practical. Globally focused and community based. Challenging and rewarding. Not many universities can offer programs as extensive and diverse...we do.

Regardless of how you choose to find your balance, you will be supported and engaged by some of the world's best faculty.

Research Opportunities

The University of Montana is a national leader in providing students the opportunity to conduct major research during their undergraduate education. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge research in your field of study at a world-class institution.

For the second time in 10 years, we will host the National Conference on Undergraduate Research giving our students—along with others nation-wide—a forum to showcase their work. Not only will you be able to share your research with your peers around the nation, but you may also gain the opportunity to publish your own research in an academic journal.

An education from The University of Montana will prepare you to change the world for generations to come.
